35 years ago, Pak (Mr.) Pugig had the idea of building a little cabin on the family grounds in a beautiful and peaceful location and rent it out to holiday guests. A good idea, as meanwhile the cabin has turned into four apartments and a house, which are still managed by the Pugig family.
In 1981, the guidebook writers Peter Rump and Gunda Urban (Bali and Lombok Handbook) discovered this place, built their own house and can be met here every time they come to Bali to research and update their book.
Strategic quiet place
Today, Pugig Homestay is a Balinese-German joint venture and for the German part, Svente is taking care of it. He lives at the premises and is always on hand with help and advice for the guests.
